The quest chain called A Foxian Tale of the Haunted had me traveling across the Luofu to seal troublesome Heliobi, but the final chapter hit differently. Instead of chasing a wandering spirit, I found myself racing to save Huohuo after a powerful Heliobus possessed her. To break the possession, Cirrus explains the situation, and when we arrive at Huohuo's position, Hanya reveals she had Mr. Tail all along. Tail then dives into the illusionary realm built around Huohuo's memories, and the rescue begins.

The goal in this final sequence is less about combat and more about guiding lost figures back to Huohuo's side. As Tail, I needed to locate Huohuo's mother and two classmates, possess them, and escort them through the dreamlike corridors so they could gather around her and weaken the Heliobus's control. The environment uses colored flames and switches as visual cues, so keeping track of yellow markers and cyan-colored flames made the puzzle straightforward once I understood the route.

Step-by-Step Rescue Route

1. Leave the main room through the marked door.

After regaining control as Tail, I stepped out of the central chamber and entered the door on my right marked by a yellow indicator.

1. Find Huohuo's mother.

On the other side, I took the first right and then the first left. This led me directly to Huohuo's mother.

1. Possess Huohuo's mother and bring her back.

I possessed her, then walked back along the same path. On the way, I activated the yellow switch that opened the route. Once she was safely with Huohuo, the first major piece of the rescue was complete.

1. Take the cyan-flame door on the left.

Returning to the previous hallway, I ignored the door used for the mother and headed through the left door marked by a cyan-colored flame.

1. Locate the first classmate behind the second cyan door.

Past that doorway, two doors with the same cyan flames appeared in succession. I entered the second door first rather than the first. Inside, I found and possessed the first classmate.

1. Activate both required switches.

Using the first classmate, I hit the switch inside the room where he was located. After that, I also used him to trigger the switch that opened the room blocking the second classmate. This step is easy to miss because the two switch prompts appear close together.

1. Possess the second classmate and bring both back.

With the path unblocked, I possessed the second classmate and escorted both classmates back to Huohuo.

Once everyone was gathered, the illusion collapsed into a long dialogue sequence and a genuinely cool cutscene. The resolution brought the emotional thread of the quest full circle and finished A Foxian Tale of the Haunted.

• Watch the flame colors. The game separates the mother's route and the classmates' route using yellow and cyan cues. If I ever felt lost, matching the correct flame color to the objective kept me on track.

• Check every switch before moving on. The most common stall point was missing the second switch while controlling the first classmate. One switch frees the classmate's immediate room, while the other opens the area holding the second classmate.

• Possess them one at a time but keep them together. The sequence wants the rescued figures gathered near Huohuo. Taking them back through the same paths while remembering which doors were already unlocked made the escort smooth.

By the end, I had sealed away the Heliobus and freed Huohuo from the heartache lingering in her illusion. The quest remains one of my favorite Trailblaze Continuance chapters in Honkai: Star Rail, partly because it turns a ghost hunt into a quiet rescue built around memory and companionship.
