Yooo, what's good my fellow Trailblazers? I’m about to spill the tea on one of the most slept-on units in Honkai: Star Rail – our boy Gallagher. Yeah, I know he’s an Abundance unit, and you’d expect him to just be a heal-bot, but nah, this guy is out here buffing, debuffing, AND slapping enemies with some respectable damage. Honestly, when I first read his kit, I was like, “Wait, what? A healer that does all that?” Low-key fire, no cap.

As of the current 2026 meta, Gallagher has cemented himself as a top-tier flex pick. His healing literally never takes a day off because it’s tied to his traces and ultimate, so you can just keep the team topped up while he does other stuff. And “other stuff” means applying debuffs, breaking toughness bars like a madman, and even helping your DPS charge ultimates faster. Big brain energy right there.

Today, I’m gonna break down some of the sickest team comps you can run with Gallagher. Whether you’re an Acheron simp, a DoT enjoyer, or just someone who loves to see giant HP bars melt, there’s something here for you. So grab your popcorn, and let’s get into it.

Acheron + Kafka + Black Swan + Gallagher (The “Stack Speedrun” Squad)

Alright, let’s start with the big one. If you’ve been playing Honkai: Star Rail recently, you already know Acheron’s ultimate can one-shot entire waves if you stack it fast enough. But stacking her ultimate without the right homies can feel like watching paint dry. Enter Gallagher.

Here’s the sauce: Gallagher’s ult applies a debuff, and his enhanced basic attack (which he gets right after ulting) applies another debuff. That’s two debuffs in one turn cycle, effectively giving Acheron two stacks for her ultimate just from one action. Sheeeesh.

Now pair that with two Nihility queens – Kafka and Black Swan. Black Swan brings the DoT pressure and DEF shred, while Kafka detonates all those DoTs and triggers her own follow-ups. And here’s the kicker: Gallagher’s constant basic attacks trigger Kafka’s talent follow-up attack. So every time he does his thing, Kafka hops in with a free zap. The whole squad literally feeds Acheron stacks nonstop. It’s a feedback loop of destruction, and I am so here for it.

Pro tip: Build Gallagher with lots of SPD and an Energy Regeneration Rope. You want him zooming around at 160+ SPD to debuff as often as MoC allows. Your Light Cone options? Post-Op Conversation, Echoes of the Coffin, or Night of Fright are pure gold. If you’re ballin’ on a budget, even Quid Pro Quo can work if you tweak the rotation.

Acheron + Pela + Guinaifen + Gallagher (The Budget Beast Comp)

Not everyone has Kafka and Black Swan, and that’s totally okay. This team slaps just as hard, and it’s way easier on the Stellar Jade wallet. The core idea remains: feed Acheron debuffs like she’s at an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Pela is the MVP budget option – her AoE DEF shred is no joke, and her ultimate comes back crazy fast because of her low energy cost. Guinaifen brings Firekiss debuff and can keep applying it with both skills and ultimates. Gallagher rounds it out with his double-debuff combo, plus he provides all the sustain you’ll ever need.

The whole gang should be fast. I’m talking 140 minimum, ideally 160. You want them moving before the enemies even think about breathing. Build Pela with an Energy Regen Rope too, so she can ult right after basic attacking. Trust me, once you see this rotation in action, you’ll be farming Memory of Chaos like it’s a Sunday stroll.

And can we talk about how Gallagher’s animations are just chef’s kiss? The guy literally pulls out a cocktail shaker mid-battle. Bartender of the year, by far.

Xueyi + Ruan Mei + Pela + Gallagher (The Break Effect Bonanza)

Okay, this team is a personal favorite of mine because it takes a unit a lot of people slept on – Xueyi – and turns her into an absolute monster. The idea is simple: break enemies’ toughness as fast as possible, and watch them explode from Break Effect damage.

Ruan Mei is the queen here, buffing everyone’s Break Effect and extending the broken state for enemies. Gallagher pitches in by contributing to toughness damage with his enhanced basic attack and ultimate, while also keeping everyone alive. Pela’s AoE DEF shred is just icing on the cake – even though this team doesn’t heavily rely on ATK% or Crit, reducing enemy DEF still pumps those break numbers higher.

Xueyi acts as the hypercarry, gobbling up all the buffs and breaking toughness bars left and right. Her follow-up attacks trigger when allies reduce toughness, and with Gallagher and Ruan Mei constantly chipping away, she gets to launch those follow-ups like clockwork. It’s so satisfying to see her build up stacks and then just demolish the enemy line.

One thing I gotta mention: make sure Xueyi has enough SPD to take multiple turns. You want her running Boots with SPD main stat and some substats. Also, Gallagher benefits from building Break Effect himself in this comp since his healing scales with it and he’s already on the frontlines breaking.

Jingliu + Blade + Ruan Mei + Gallagher (The HP Tango)

Last but definitely not least, we have the double DPS duo that turns HP manipulation into an art form. Jingliu and Blade are literally made for each other. She drains teammates’ HP to pump up her damage, and Blade loves losing HP because it stacks his talent for a massive follow-up counter. It’s a win-win.

Ruan Mei once again proves why she’s the Harmony archon, buffing everyone’s damage and break capabilities. But here’s where Gallagher shines bright: his healing doesn’t scale with ATK, so you can build him full HP to boost the team’s max HP pool. Why does that matter? Jingliu’s drain is percentage-based, so higher max HP means more total HP she can consume, fueling bigger attacks. Meanwhile, Blade gets chunkier and hits even harder after taking all that friendly fire.

Gallagher’s constant passive healing ensures nobody bites the dust from all the HP shenanigans. Since his healing triggers when allies attack debuffed enemies, and Jingliu/Blade are always attacking, the sustain is basically infinite. Plus, his emergency heal on skill can bail you out if things get spicy.

What I absolutely love about this team is how synergistic it feels without forcing a strict rotation. Every unit just does their thing, and it all clicks. Blade and Jingliu are doing the tango, Ruan Mei is vibing with her buffs, and Gallagher is just there like, “Another round, anyone?”

Final Tips & Tricks

If you’re building Gallagher, don’t sleep on his Eidolons. E2 grants a debuff cleanse on his skill, which is huge for certain boss fights. E4 increases his healing bonus based on his Break Effect, so he gets tankier and healier at the same time. E6? Straight up gives him more toughness damage and a fat Break Effect boost. It’s like the game wants you to main him.

For relics, 2-piece Messenger Traversing Hackerspace + 2-piece any SPD set works wonders, or go full 4-piece Hackerspace if your team loves SPD. Planar ornaments: Sprightly Vonwacq or Fleet of the Ageless depending on your needs. And please, give him an Energy Regen Rope. I’ll cry if I see another Gallagher with HP Rope when he could be ulting every two turns.

Lmao, I’m getting too preachy. But seriously, this bar-keeping legend is one of the best 4-star investments you can make in the current meta. He fits into almost any team, and his flexibility is just chef’s kiss. So go on, build him, and let me know in the comments which team you’re rocking. Until next time, Trailblazers – may your pulls be blessed and your relic substats be godly. Peace out!
